I was thinking...a lot of us are from different worlds, but people come from the same ones, too. And a lot of the time they're connected somehow. It made me wonder...has anyone ever come to the City and found family they didn't know about?

[ Sora is all for optimism, for the bright side, for pushing through life so to speak rather than letting life push you around -- chosen keyblade wielder or not, friends perceived as enemies or not, etc, etc, etc. But Sora is also for telling the truth, and trying to make that truth work for the people he cares about even if it seems...well, not so great when you put it down in writing. Not that he has. Please. But the point stands, he's not sure how to address this at all and it may be one of those instances where knowing 'more' is in a way, knowing less. ]

I guess it's impossible to tell right away. Maybe the more you talk to him the clearer things will get?

Maybe. I hope so.

[ And even talking it out this much to someone not Ven helps Roxas sort it out in his head. It's one of the confounding things about Sora; the other boy frustrates him, confuses him, makes him upset and angry at times, as much as a Nobody can be those things. But other times, it's nice to have him around—someone who listens, and hears. ]

[ Not expecting that question, Sora answers without pause, blinking at the device. ] No. [ It's such a simple answer that from anyone else it could be taken as defensive or the like, but from Sora it just has the ring of an answer to a question he's never been asked before. ]

[ It does sound a little defensive, but Roxas just blinks at the tone before mentally shrugging it off. What does he know about the nuances of emotion? ]

I never thought about having family before. People like me don't.

That's not true! [ He says it again without thinking, but it is kind of an insistence rather than a criticism. ]

I mean...just...family isn't just about being related by blood, you know? Family...I mean I think of my friends as my family too, is all.

That's not the same, though. [ But he sounds a little uncertain even as he says it. What does he know, really? ]
