[Residents of the City who happen to be checking out the network around this time will hear a very loud **thump** as a teenage boy suddenly lands where there was no teenage boy a moment ago.]

Oof...what?

[There are a few moments of silence and shuffling as Roxas feels around to make sure he's solid. He's as surprised to be as he is surprised to be here in particular.]

I'm just me again...

[There's a swift intake of breath as he spots the communication device. When he speaks again, it's something others are meant to hear.]

Hey, City. I'm back. I don't know how long it's been...but it feels like a long time.

My name is Roxas. I guess I should say "it's nice to meet you" if I didn't know you before.

[A brief pause.]

...Sora? Are you still here?

It feels... [He shakes his head.] I'm not sure how to describe it. It feels like things make sense now.

I think it's different than it would be for most Nobodies, though. Me and Sora were like two separate people. We still are, except...sort of not...

I don't really know. It was like being asleep. Only I woke up not too long before I ended up back here.

[He's listening very attentively, although his face falls a bit when he mentions how different it is for him. Back home he would have thought that one Nobody getting their heart back meant that the rest of them- But not here, he knew. Especially not if that one was Roxas.]

What was it like after you woke up, then?

It was like...I was trying to run through water.

[He's never experienced that on his own, but he's sure he knows what that feels like, and now he knows because Sora knew.]

I could kind of tell what was happening, but I couldn't do anything about it. Not until...uh.

Woah. [Demyx definitely knows about water, and the way it feels. So no explanation needed there.] Weird.

Oh. [Right. All gone.] What were you able to do then?

[Welp.]

You attacked- [His facial expression goes from concerned, to a grin, to confused as anything.] Wait, but I thought you, uh, merged with him.

I did.

[What, that doesn't explain everything?]

It was sort of from the inside.

[How do you attack someone from the inside?] Oh. Okay.

[Another pause.] I can't believe you're the only member of the Organization left. Well. Not that you're even a member anymore, but still.

I wish I didn't have to be. If Xemnas had really been after hearts, instead of just power for himself—maybe we didn't do it the right way, but I still don't think that's a bad thing.

If he had really- He was- But-

The Superior didn't really believe in getting our hearts back?

I think all he ever wanted was Kingdom Hearts. Whether or not we got hearts in the process didn't make a difference to him.

But then- why did he want Kingdom Hearts in the first place?

[He hesitates for a moment.]

So...I talked to Sora after I got back, and he asked me something I should tell you about.

Yeah.

[He pauses too. What could that possibly mean from him?]

Yeah? What?

He asked me if I'd want to live with him. I wouldn't wanna ditch you, though.

[Awkward pause.]

He has two extra bedrooms, though.

[He's lived here for years. He was the first Nobody, aside from Roxas and Axel, who hadn't wanted him to live with them, at the time, and he got a place of his own. Building 9. That was never an option. It had to be 9. Room 13 was a good choice. Once he saw it he moved in pretty much immediately. Not that there had been anything for him to really move in when he first got there, but now was different. As other members of the Organization had come, and ultimately left, they'd all contributed to the space that they inhabited.

Only the Organization. No one else had ever even been in his apartment. He'd been over to other peoples' places, but no one over his. Building 9, room 13. It was his. Would he really leave it? Especially to go and live with Sora. It made sense for Roxas to want to live with him, after all, that's pretty much what he just told Demyx had happened back home. And an apartment is way less cramped than one body.

He'd lived here for years.]

Nah, [He waves it off with a gesture from his hand.] It'd be too weird. But- I mean, if you wanna go, it'd be alright. I don't really mind.

Well, no, I mean...it'd be pretty lousy of me to just leave you on your own. And I get it. Moving would be weird.

I...guess it'd be weird if he came here?

[He knows it's probably pointless to ask. But despite feeling more at peace with himself than he has been most of his life, Roxas still feels a little unsettled. Demyx wasn't Axel, but he wasn't Xemnas, either, and he'd been a friend to Roxas in the time he'd been here before. That counted for something.

Somebodies and Nobodies...was it even possible to have a foot in both worlds?]

[He does get it. Of course he does. Just because he's Somebody now doesn't mean he doesn't still get it.

Wait, what? Okay, so, maybe he only somewhat still gets it.]

What, if the guy that killed most of us came here?

[Not that there was technically an 'us' anymore. And he didn't seem to have tried anything in the City, but that was no excuse. No one but the Organization had ever been in the apartment. Demyx thought about the people that he knew.

Roxas would stay. And he'd got on on his own before, but that ticking had really been annoying for those few days when Roxas had left. Demyx really thought about the people that he knew. Well, if the kid was here, he could bring over people that he knew, right? Well, now that he's found out that the whole purpose of the Organization was a lie- they were still in it together, but that didn't mean that it wasn't time for a change.]

I doubt that he'd even want to.

[The disbelief is about what he was expecting, but he can't just let it go.]

It was different then. He was different. He and the Organization were enemies then; it's not like everyone didn't try to take him out too. And me with him.

Besides...he told me he thinks there's more to Nobodies than just shells. And there's no reason to fight here.

[It sounds like he's making excuses, and maybe he is. But it's true, too. There's no Kingdom Hearts here, and no reason to stay in their former roles, either. Even if they haven't fought here, building some kind of real truce might be good for them all.]

But what if he did?

[Excuse you he was merely using aggression to attempt to liberate his true disposition. That's- completely different than attacking Sora. DON'T ASK HOW, IT JUST IS.]

Yeah, well, he didn't exactly attempt to talk it over. [Pause.] He said that?

[Just because he's supposedly said that he pretty much supports Demyx's theory, doesn't mean he'll be excited about the arrangement. He wouldn't exactly call this a truce, but he's avoiding the word 'no'.]

Well, I dunno. He can clean up and stuff, right?

[Sora and Roxas: whose disposition is the true one? Deep questions for another day.]

He said that.

[Maybe he'd been thinking more about Roxas and Axel when he did, but that was because they were the ones he'd seen act the most differently from his idea of what a Nobody was. He'd still gained an open mind.]

Of course he can. He takes care of himself already. And his cats.

[Roxas doesn't know this for sure, but he'll run with it anyway.]

[How about deep questions for never. Unless it's multiple choice, then Demyx could probably hazard a guess. F: All of the Above.]

Well, guess he's gotta do something right. [And he probably doesn't shove daikon down everyone's throat for every meal. Always a plus.] Lemme know what he says.

He does! I mean, he will.

[Roxas brightens, more excited about the possibility than he'd expected. Sure, it'll be...awkward for a little while, but it'll work out, right? Right.]
