Hamsters are unobtrusive, right? They didn't make a lot of noise in the store. I guess they'll be okay.

[Attached: 1 jpg image of a pile of very badly folded origami...things next to a small cage of hamsters. They might possibly be cranes. Are they terrible because he is cursed with bad luck or because of natural lack of skill? It is a mystery.]

I don't think I'm doing this right.

[Out enjoying the day, Roxas can be found folding attempted cranes near the fountain should anyone wander by.]

I might not understand everything, but I don't even know you. If you're against the Organization, that means you're against me too.

[A tiny part of him is weirdly hurt that this stranger would go so far to mess with him. That's just wrong.]

I know it...it sounds bad. It does but it's not that simple.

You don't care that he could be lying to you?

Was he lying about you being the Organization's enemy?

Mostly, I guess, no.

But I fought with one of them...on the same side once. Axel. He knew you.

And---

I don't know what to say. Is he going to even believe me? What if Xemnas twists that around too?

Argh.

But it's sort of...it's complicated.

[ understatement, and the sad truth is that Sora means well but he couldn't explain it all if he tried, not without help at least...maybe Riku could, better than Sora at least...but... ]

[ Long pause, maybe long enough to get Sora's hopes up, who knows. And then— ]

That's what I thought.

He came back hurt. You did that.

Everything I've done, it was to protect the people I care about and the worlds they live in.

And to find my friends.

...it's not a good excuse, but it's...it's the truth.

[ In any case, at this point Sora's not a fan of painting people who aren't even there anymore as worse or even bad....the Organization was taking all the wrong methods in trying to become more than they were...but it probably doesn't seem that way to Roxas. Sora can't imagine being in his shoes even though he knows he felt a memory in Twilight Town--a half life--but it's not the same. It's not in his reference or guesswork to understand entirely the standpoint they could come from that would justify it but when he thinks about Axel....

...all that changing sides, and the way he talked about Roxas.

Friends. Sora knows it without even wondering for a second.

It's not something he knows how to approach yet, and even though he's already said it's complicated, he's starting to get that it's even more so than he thought himself.

Which sucks. ]

[ For a moment, Roxas can feel a pang where his heart would be, if he had one. Friends. He gets that, and right now he wants Axel and Xion here so much he feels like he might burst.

Xemnas is...Xemnas. Roxas doesn't distrust him, but he doesn't even know him. All he knows is his job in the Organization and he can't even do that here. He wants to be whole and with the people who matter, and right now he can't have either of those things.

Axel and Xion aren't here. He'll have to make his own way until he can get back to them. ]

Well, so people can choose! Liiike...say you tried one flavor, but didn't like it. You had the choice of another flavor! Variety is awesome like that.

[He grins and noms.]

Don't worry, you'll figure it out. Sometimes just hanging around and doing nothing is good.

I hope they're not too bad when we do get cursed. They sound like they can be pretty strange.

This is only the second kind I've had. I don't know if there are any I don't like.

But...how is it good?

Well, that just means you gotta try more, right?

[Hanna shrugs and smiles.]

Well...free time, think about it. You can do whatever you feel like doing! Ice cream, tv, video games, hanging out outside, seeing friends...nothing with a strict plan or beginning or end. Just doing what makes you happy! Or just sitting outside and watching the clouds...that's why doing nothing can be good!!

I guess so.

[He looks unconvinced.] I just like having ice cream with my friends.

You ever tried doing anything else sort of like that?

[He grins a bit.]

Because maybe now is the time to try!

No, not really.

But my boss is still here. He'll give me things to do.

Well, like I said, give it a try...do something new or exciting! Go to the beach, or something like that. Eat new flavors of ice cream! Maybe write letters to your friends so that when they get here, they'll know all the neat stuff you've been doing!!

[Oh. Well, that's sort of a downer. He frowns a bit, slumping, moving to eat some more ice cream.]

Oh. Well...hm. I guess he'll keep you sort of occupied...but still, he can't make you work 24/7. So you can have fun when he's not making you work!!

There's a beach? The beach sounds cool.

[He's just not good at time off.]

Maybe. I don't know.

The beach is really nice!

Hmm...you're new to this time off thing, huh? Well...I guess I'll have to show you the ropes!

There are ropes?

[Hanna laughs. Oh, he likes you, Roxas.]

Not actual ropes. It's an expression, it means that I'll show you how to make the most of time off, give you examples of things to do, stuff like that!

If we just stick together, it's not so bad.
