Hey, I don't—HEY! You made me drop my ice cream! Don't just...run away....

[sigh]

I really hate when the City gets all crowded like this.

[There is no season in which ice cream fails to be important. On this, she is downright unmoving.

Her sympathetic look turns a little softer at the corners, wry.]
Once in a while? Never move to New York. 'Once in a while' is all of the time. [Looking around, she squints at the environment, cityscape, okay that's fine, but it doesn't have the same vibe as a dream; she just doesn't know what else it could be - other than a sign she's gone off the deep end and she hopes she's too young for that still.] Speaking of which, uh, can you tell me where we're supposed to be?

...lmao it took me a second to notice she's a different ariadne

[She is so right.]

Is that the world you're from? It's not usually this bad here, but every so often all these strangers show up and it's like they don't even fit.

Uh, this is the City. Don't you remember?

it happens! there's only so many icons of her, etc. happens a lot in general actually

[Bemused, she doesn't know what to say to that initially. World? It's an odd phrasing.] Not exactly. It's a city. Kind of like this one, in some ways.

[That question has her frowning.] Remember? Should I?

[Cities can be worlds.] Oh. Must be an interesting one. Does it have curses, too?

...huh? But...you've been here for a while, haven't you? We talked a few weeks ago.

*pat pat*

[She laughs but it's conversational, most importantly not unkind, and she shakes her head.] Nope, not as far as I know.

[Her glance grows sharp here, thoughtful and on point.] No, I've never... [had this dream before] ...sorry, I don't remember anything like that.

[identity profile] binarysky.livejournal.com 2011-03-01 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
People there are lucky, then. They're really annoying.

[What. But. He just. You just. So confuse now.] Oh...maybe you left and came back without memories. That happens sometimes.

[identity profile] perspectives.livejournal.com 2011-03-01 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
[Ariadne does not like the sound of that at all, and for a few horrible moments she forgets that this is obviously a dream. It's too ridiculous to be anything else, and she doesn't remember how she got here. Some sinking feeling in her stomach keeps her fingers from curling around the bishop in her pocket. Brows lifting, she runs fingers back through her hair, fidgety.] Well, this takes the cake for 'weirdest dream I've ever had'.

[He chuckles a little at that.] If you're dreaming this, then what am I doing? And everyone else here?
