♔ day 44 ♔

[Roxas looks a little embarrassed on the video, but a Nobody's gotta do what a Nobody's gotta do.]

Does anyone know where there are still carrots on sale? I've only got a few left, and when I went to the closest stores, they were all sold out. The shop lady said everyone wants them today.

I don't even know why I want them...they're not that good.

[ Sora doesn't really know how to reply to that, because while his optimism and stubbornness and the greater help of his friends has seen him through to this moment, this is a problem that's a lot more complicated than he's ever had to look into.

This is also the kind of problem that STALKING will not help, but he intends to, with a box of carrot cake, and when he finally through sheer commitment of scouring the City on the whole, finds Roxas he'll be sure to leave it in a place where the blond can't miss it. He'll debate leaving a note but instead of that he'll doodle a key on the boxtop.

...er...the drawing is probably not that good.

But it's supposed to be a key, okay? Ahem. ]

[ Later, when Roxas is out for a walk—to walk off the cake, he tells himself, not to find more or any carrot products in general, he doesn't need them that badly—he hears the flurry of departing steps and sees a box fit for a cake when he turns around.

It's cake, and he knows instinctively where it came from. Anger flares for a moment, or the memory of it, since it's another emotion he can't really feel, but then it dies down. How can he be angry about cake that was left without a word? And it's probably not poisoned or anything. Probably. So he'll take it home and share it with his comrades, and not mention the source.

But he has to wonder—why did Sora draw a bent fork on the boxtop? ]
